The Sports Medicine club at Waterloo high school is designed to give real life observations and some small practical applications for those interested in pursuing a career in a health career. There is an application process to join and some standardized training before students may participate. There is a commitment to several hours per week (flexible schedule formed) to time in the athletic training room, at practices, and on sidelines of games. Students will learn basic first aid, how to execute an emergency action plan, how to work as a team, and about the work that goes on behind the scenes to make a sports team successful.
